I used the read-a-thon to end my blogging hiatus and I think I did a pretty good job too by finishing one book I’d been reading forever and then reading an entire book. I also visited a number of blogs to cheerlead throughout the read-a-thon. Now it’s time to really get back into reading and reviewing books. After the read-a-thon was over I started going though the other blogs of readers and I found “Fall Into Reading 2010 at Callapidderdays. I’m staring a bit late but I thought it would be fun to join anyway.
The challenge goes from September 22nd, through December 20th and I plan to read the following books by the end of the challenge:
- “Mockingjay” by Suzanne Collins
- “A Wizard of Mars” by Diane Duane
- One additional book from my TBR pile to be decided once the others are read and reviewed.
An additional part of the challenge are questions asked every Tuesday. Below are the answers to the first three questions already asked:
Reading Question #1: What do you think is the biggest obstacle to your reading? What prevents you from reading as much as you’d like?
If I plan for it and know I have plenty of time I can actually read for long stretches of time – like the read-a-thon. But often I like to be doing other things in the evenings rather than sitting and reading one thing. Often when I try to read I start wondering if I have email or wanting to check something else online.
Reading Question #2: What do you think about e-books? Do you engage in e-reading or do you prefer to stick to good ol’ physical books?
I LOVE eBooks – they don’t take up space like physical books and I think the lighted screen is easer to read. I’d prefer to have a large library of eBooks than a large library of physical books that might need to be packed and moved. I also love that my iPad has free apps for the Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Nobel Nook AND the iPad’s eBook reader – which means I have three options for eBooks.
Reading Question #3: Do you eat/drink while reading? If so, do you have some favorite reading snacks?
If I’m reading in the morning I always have a big mug of strong coffee with cream and sugar – other than that my drink of choice is water. I avoid eating when I’m reading as it would be too easy for me to over eat that away.
Future questions will be answered at Callapidderdays as they’re posted. Happy Reading!
